CADAS (Cumbria Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service)

We are very pleased to announce that from the 1st November 2014, Cadas is introducing an improved telephone help line service across Cumbria. A new single number, charged at standard rate on both fixed and mobile lines will allow anyone who needs advice or help with issues around drug and alcohol misuse to speak to our support staff, Monday to Thursday between 9am - 5pm and on Friday 9am-4.30pm. Our new number is 0300 111 4002 with an answer machine service for people who wish to leave a message. Our partners and referring agencies can still contact us directly using the telephone numbers associated with each of our four centres.

We are also really pleased to announce that from the 1st November we our extending our opening hours into the evening, every Tuesday from 5pm- 8pm across all four of our centres in Cumbria. This will allow even more people to access our one to one and group support services after work. From Monday to Wednesday between 9am and 5pm, each of our four centres will continue to be open to the public for drop in advice, a friendly chat, one on one support or group events.

On Thursdays and Fridays our teams and volunteers will be out in their community, improving awareness of our services, talking to stakeholders and raising vital funds for the important service Cadas delivers for the people of Cumbria. On Thursdays and Fridays we will also be training more people to support their communities to ensure we can continue to change people’s lives for the better.

This new county wide single number will mean more people are able to speak to one of our staff or volunteers the first time they call us, no matter where they call us from in Cumbria, 5 days a week. New evening opening times open up our service to a group of people who can't access our counselling service during daytimes because of work commitments. Our new consistent approach to county wide opening times also allows us to improve safeguarding for everyone.
