New Shop in Bowness on Windermere - 01/09/2014
Local Charity Age UK South Lakeland is staring a new income generation venture in Bowness in time for the rise in enquiries from local older people that happens every winter. They are opening a new shop on the popular shopping parade Quarry Rigg in Bowness.

Sonia Mangan, Chief Officer for the Charity said:

“ Every year our team get busier and busier and winter time can be a challenge for many of us, but especially for those who are older, alone and maybe making choices about eating or heating. In order to support as many older people as we do every year we need to raise much needed funds. We are fortunate to receive grants, donations and sometimes legacies from local older people, but we also work hard for our money.”

She went on to say:

“ Our new shop in Bowness will help us to work even harder with the support of our many local shoppers and visitors to this beautiful part of the world”.

The charity team are urging people to join them at the new shop on 5 September 2014 at 10am when Colin Standing, one of the longstanding retail volunteers will cut the ribbon.
